IPPE: Say thanks to Atlanta with donations to community food bank
ATLANTA, Jan. 25 — The International Poultry and Processing Expo will donate $5,000 to the Atlanta Community Food Bank to give back to the community that has hosted the industry meeting since 1948.
Exhibitors and attendees wanting to complement this effort can make donations at the IPPE management office (B-209) during show hours.
Donations also will be collected at the welcome reception in the Georgia Aquarium beginning at 5:30 pm on Tuesday, Jan. 26, where donors will be offered a photo opportunity with 2016 Miss America, Betty Cantrell, and gold medalist Special Olympian, Will Crain.
Any amount is greatly appreciated, IPPE organizers say. At the conclusion of trade show, IPPE will present the Atlanta Community Food Bank with the grand total of contributions.
According to a statement from IPPE, one in seven Americans, and an estimated 755,400 people in metro Atlanta, turn to food pantries and meal service programs to feed their families each year. This includes more than 164,000 children and more than 64,000 seniors.
